I have a full and busy life, but I still use the very process I want to teach you to keep me honest about what I am doing and why.
Some Background
I have worked in the field of health and education for over 25 years as a specialist in speech and language disorders. This is a challenging field, full of interesting people. The clients I worked with ranged from toddlers to geriatric, with every imaginable block to communication. I had to use my knowledge, my wits, and my imagination to assist my clients to get to be effective communicators. Early on in this field I realized that to be really top notch I had to think outside the box. I had to be willing to use every and any thing that would work- because if it was easy, my clients would already be communicating! From these experiences I learned that anyone who is motivated will work as hard as you push them. And the biggest motivator is control of one's environment and having a voice to make one's own choices.
I also started my own retail business 11 years ago. From doing the necessary background work to get supportive data to designing and writing a business plan, securing a bank loan for a business startup, designing and setting up a retail store, training employees, managing cash flow and expenses, keeping current in fast moving retail markets, and eventually how to get out successfully are all skills I learned and used. The one thing that I loved most of all about my retail business was the customers themselves.
Early on my customers started telling me they came into my store to: get a dose of reality, to get calm, to talk over a problem, because they always felt better after talking with me, because somehow I helped them see more clearly, because they knew I would truly listen, because I was grounded. The SR Process allows me to teach you to have the internal congruity that we all need to succeed...to know what you want and allow you to figure out how to get it.
