14 Year Old Female: Eating Disorder

I introduced SR into psychiatric care in 1990. The majority of the patients I worked with were anorexics and bulimics. From that point forward I had a preference to work with eating disorders because they are the easiest to fix. There is a twisted irony behind this because anorexia and bulimics have the highest fatality rate of any psychological disorder. The fight I encountered from NIMH and the entities that control care for this group literally drove me into bankruptcy. I still find it appalling that the brightest of our society is killing themselves when they are so easy to fix.

I continued to work with this group and in 2002 worked with the following 14 year old who was suffering from anorexia, bulimia and was cutting herself. This was the first time I worked with someone this age so she had to use the adult version of the program. We now have an Emotional Checklist and Workbook that is specific to this group.

You will notice that some of the numbers on the Emotional Checklist were still high on the follow-up but the parents reported she was eating normally and had stopped cutting herself after two sessions. They did not request anymore follow-ups.

51 Year Old Obese Female: Teacher

No one has ever told me 'Gee I did not realize eating an entire cheesecake would make me fat." The multibillion dollar weight loss industry continues to convince you that all you have to do is try a new diet or wait for the next pill while continuing to ignore the process of the subconscious. If you choose to take control as opposed to attacking the body to try and change the mind you now have an option to do this.

This was an educated bright woman who you will see fully understood the program process.
