Choosing a Specialty

What you have learned by the time you have reached this point is you will be able to specialize in virtually any area of human behavior because the process of SR® is based on how a behavior comes about from the core of the subconscious. Choosing a specialty will allow you to network with physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists who specialize in the same field. We cannot express enough the importance of maintaining an organized data protocol. This is done automatically at Burris Connect.

Top 7 Ways to Market Your SR® Practice

1) Let people know why you are the best

- SR® is the only evidence-based program process in coaching and behavioral health and the only proven process for depression. Depression is the primary symptom for, PTSD, ADD, Eating Disorders, Obesity, OCD, and virtually all behavior disorders.

- SR® begins by answering the single most fundamental question for taking control of your life and that is…What Determines human behavior? If one cannot answer this question one does not know how it works and if one does not know how it works one cannot fix it. If one does not have a clear definitive answer to the question (What determines human behavior?) one is simply guessing. How can one move forward if one does not definitively know what is moving one forward.

- SR® guides you through the process of how a behavior works. You will learn how to interrupt, restructure and reprogram any behavior which simply does not work.

- SR® offers the only program process with the infrastructure for study every time the program is used. This makes the CSRC the very best because if you are asked to prove what you claim you can produce you have the training and infrastructure to do so.

2) Do a 10 minute pitch or a one hour lecture free of charge for your clients and anyone they would like to invite.

3) Do a 4 hour public service event live or online.

4) Set up a study with a psychologist, psychiatrist or physician in regard to what they consider the biggest issue with their patients.

5) Ask everyone that you work with for a referral.

6) Offer 10 percent of what you charge as a referral fee.

7) Join International Coach Federation (ICF) and affiliates you feel may be beneficial to your company.
Their web address is - http://www.coachfederation.org. You can search for a local affiliate on this site.

Head Shot: The specification for your head shot is 85 pixels by 85 pixels at 72dpi. Most photo editors have a “Save for the Web” option. There are several free Photoshop alternatives. They are Paint (PC Only) – Fotoflexer.com & The Gimp. If you do not get it exactly right it will resize it for you. It is important however for your head shot to be at minimum 85 x 85 pixels.

Any time you upload a new head shot make sure you pay attention to your naming convention of your .jpg so you can be found online.  Sample – Life-Coach-FirstName-LastName.jpg

SR® Workshops: Burris Connect is a site exclusive to the CSRC and dedicated to online workshops. You will use this site to run your first client through the SR® process with before and after data collection. You can work remotely with anyone in the world and all of their data is stored online with graphs and charts to measure and monitor their progress.
•    FreeConferenceCalling.com: This site is free for groups of up to 500.
•    Google Voice: As of this writing you can call nationwide for free with a small fee for international. Be sure to confirm this when you register. You can provide this information to your nationwide clients.
•    Skype: A Skype to Skype call is free with the ability to call individual cell or land lines at a very low cost worldwide. We require a headset to avoid feedback.
•    Vonage: Vonage is a flat rate VoIP service that allows free unlimited calling to 60 countries. This service or a service like this is recommended if you plan on working with people worldwide. If you go with Vonage please let them know we referred you.

Blogs: Blogs on the SR® site are a great way to optimize your profile, communicate with your clients and keep everyone informed of your successes as a CSRC or MSRC. Your blog will go on our home page. Active SR® bloggers also become featured on the community page. There are FaceBook and Twitter buttons so anyone can upload your article to their social networking accounts. To begin blogging, Login to your account, click on Create Content and then click Blog entry.

Anchor Text: Anytime you have the opportunity to put your link somewhere you want to use anchor text.
Anchor text sample - <a href="http://www.SubconsciousRestructuring.com">Life Coach Certification</a>. When a bot looks at this link it determines SubconsciousRestructuring.com does Life Coach Certification. You can use anchor text on our site in your Bio and your blogs.

If you are using our site only you can use your anchor text to point back to your profile. You do not have to write the anchor text code. All you have to do is highlight the word you wish to make a link out of and click on the anchor tool in your bio or blog and enter the link. The anchor tag will be created for you. The anchor tool looks like a paper clip lying on its side. There is a broken paper clip next to it to remove the link.

Video: The best way for new clients to get to know you are videos. Let us know if there is a video from YouTube you would like to have as part of your profile. (Professional video only)

Map: Filling out your address from the Edit tab of your account creates a Google Map in your Profile. Address is important so you do not get stacked on top of someone else in the same city.

SR® Studies: Uploading your Master or Case Studies Creates a Tab in your profile with a PDF of the study. This is a fundamental part of SR® and allows potential clients to evaluate your work like no one else in coaching, counseling or mental health. If a client is willing to sign off on their results this makes it even more powerful.

FaceBook - Twitter - YouTube: Enter the links to your social networking sites from your Profile page and buttons will appear on your profile that takes people to your profile on these sites.

Emails: The “Public Email” you put in your profile is hidden from spam bots and an Email button is provided to potential clients who wish to communicate with you. It is not however protected from someone who takes the time to copy and paste it into a database. This is why we recommend your “Public Email” not be your primary email. We recommend you do not put an email in your bio.

Web Site: If you have a web site entering the address in your profile will make it available to clients. It is placed right below your head shot in your profile.

Staying up to Date: Anytime there is an update to any of your tools you will find them in your account under the Web File Manager link in the left column.

Optimizing Your Profile: You can make sure your profile is indexed immediately by adding it to the three main search engines.

Google - http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
Yahoo - http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
Bing - http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx

YellowPages.com Superpages.com & YellowBook.com

Check your area with the Google Trends Tool and the Google Ad Planner Tool before making a decision on advertising in these directories.  YellowPages.com, YellowBook.com and SuperPages.com all have a free sign up for your business. We cannot recommend pay per click for any of these directories.

Google

Google Places: This is Google’s version of online yellow pages. This is part of Google Maps and is a place to list your business. As with other things Google does it offers more features than anyone else and is taking over the online yellow pages. You can upload up to ten pictures and five videos.

Burris Institute – Our Listing

CitySearch.com: This search engine is a more sophisticated than other directories Google draws from for business results. If you only register with one directory this is the one.

InsiderPages.com: This is a directory Google grabs from in conjunction with their directory.

Google Ad Words: This is where you sign up for Google Ad Words
Recommendations – We recommend you do not use the Google content partners. Use the Google search only for your Ad Words. We recommend Google only because of poor experiences with other online advertising.

Google Keyword Selector Tool: This is how you determine your best keywords.

Google Trends: This tool will allow you to see how much traffic a website gets and compares it to others you may advertise on.

Google Ad Planner: This is where you get the demographics and other stats of companies you may wish to advertise with.

Wordtracker.com: This is another Key Word selector tool that will indicate daily hits.

One Way Links & Link Exchange

Link exchange does not carry the weight that it use to. The objective is to get one way links and you do this via Press Releases. Article Distribution has fallen out of favor but if you do article distribution we can only recommend www.IShare.com. Google puts much more weight on back links then Yahoo or MSN.

Press Release

PRWeb.com is the biggest online news release distribution. Cost starts at $80.00. For $120.00 they include the social networks. You will need to check with HPheedo.comH before spending the extra money. Pheedo is who PRWeb uses for their social network distribution. The $200.00 level includes SEO. This is the level we recommend.

PR.com is free and paid depending what features you choose. This is a popular press site with the search engines.

PRLog.org: Completely free.

The Wires: If you are working with a publicist they may recommend a wire. These are expensive and we notice wider distribution with PRWeb.com. There are only 5 main wires and they are HMarketWire.comH HGlobeNewsWire.comH HEWorldWire.comH, HBusinessWire.comH, and HPRNewsWire.comH. HUse Google Ad Planner to determine which wire service to use.  PRNewsWire.com has other features that allow you to connect to PR professionals like ProfNet. You can also try to release directly through HAssociated PressH or HReutersH.

Public Relations

ProfNetConnect.com: ProfNet is a PRNewsWire.com service which is in essence a social network for experts in their field. You can make an account for free and network with other people just as you would Linkedin. There are over 80,000 reporters and free lancers who use this database to search for story material. There is a yearly membership available at ProfNet that will allow you to pitch to media. We highly recommend you connect with us on ProfNet and join our group.

Burris Institute ProfNet Group

HelpaReporter.com: This is the best free site to stay dialed into stories PR professionals are working. Simply register, populate your profile and you start getting three emails a day with stories to pitch to.

Publicists: The only publicists we can recommend is Private PR and Media Group. It is owed by Private and he is a third generation publicists. When you hire a publicist you are purchasing their contacts so it makes sense to go with one with the best connections. He does not take everyone however and he is not cheap.

Social Networking

MeetUp.com: This is a very robust database that allows you to set up or attend local meetings on any subject you can think of. This site has proven to be more productive in two days than working all other social networking sites for months. If you only use one social networking site this is the one. You can get started now with this site by simply joining our group. You can designate yourself with the following terms. Be sure to include our registered trademark symbol.

•    Certified SR® Counselor
•    Certified SR® Life Coach
•    Certified Subconscious Restructuring® Counselor

FaceBook.com: FaceBook.com is now the largest Social Networking site. FaceBook and Twitter have established a position that requires you take part. You must have a presence on FaceBook and have a means of posting to it from your site. Profile is a personal reference at FaceBook and a Page is in reference to your business which is designated specifically for your company.

FaceBook and Twitter are used by CNN and others for live interactivity. You can link your FaceBook Profile to Twitter so you do not have to post things twice. You can also call yourself an SR® Life Coach in Twitter or FaceBook by simply adding a number at the end. Example: SR Life Coach.

SR® Life Coach Twitter Page

LinkedIn.com: LinkedIn.com is geared more toward professionals. Seventy five percent of its demographic is over the age of 29.

Lynda.com: The best way to take the learning curve down on any web subject is Lynda.com. They have videos on virtually all internet subjects and software.

Video

YouTube is the obvious one here but there is another one you must sign up with. It is www.TubeMogul.com. This site will distribute your video to many other sites. This is important because it is all about getting as many one way links as you can.

Getting Work Done

Elance.com has worked the best for us but there are many others who will work well depending on what type of work you need done.
