SR® Counseling Life Coaching FAQ
1) What is Subconscious Restructuring® or SR®?
Subconscious Restructuring® Definition: SR® is an evidence-based 7 Step counseling life coach discipline designed to interrupt, restructure and reprogram one’s emotional state and behavior from the nucleus of the subconscious.
The conscious mind has one function and that is to deliver information to the subconscious, the subconscious does everything else. If one does not include how the subconscious works as part of a counseling, coaching or therapy session the legitimacy of one's sessions must be questioned.
2) How do I know SR® will work for my specific issue?
The singular focus of SR® is on how each person processes their life’s events from the origin of an emotional state at the deepest level of the subconscious. This is why SR® has proven to be affective for virtually all human emotional and behavioral issues. This is also why we do not need a diagnosis or background information in order for the program process of SR® to work.
In Contrast all other modalities in coaching, counseling and psychotherapy look at external events in order to attempt to assess the level of discontent or trauma and then give their best guess as how to fix the problem. There is always argument in this approach on how much race, gender, socioeconomic background and geographic location may affect a problem a client may be bringing to a coach, counselor or therapist.
Please take a look at Epidemiology or Evidence-Based FAQ for more details on this subject.
3) How long does it take to get through the program process of SR® and how much time for follow-up?
It will take four hours to get completely through the program process of SR®. The minimum follow-up recommendation for all demographics is 4 sessions once per week over a thirty day period after one has completed the program. Your Certified SR® Counselor will continually assess your progress and make recommendations based on those assessments in conjunction with several other variables.
4) Why do I need to restructure my subconscious to attain my conscious goals?
Everything you have ever seen, smelled, heard, tasted or felt is stored in your subconscious mind. The subconscious uses this information to determine how you respond emotionally to your world or how you perceive your world. This is what we refer to as your subconscious programming. These programs can emerge at any time of the day or night. This is significant because the subconscious runs approximately four times faster than you can speak and right now you have no idea what the subconscious is doing. This is why the success rate for issues like permanent weight loss is less than 5%.
SR® guides you through the process of how the subconscious works and then how to recognize access and change any subconscious program that is simply not working.
5) Have there been any studies on the SR® process?
Anytime someone tells you they have a study that proves what they are doing works you need to take a close look at what they measure. In regard to human behavior if one is not measuring one’s emotional state you in essence have nothing because everything we do as human beings is emotionally driven. This is why Step 1 of the SR® process is an Emotional Checklist.
The initial development of SR® in 1984 included the infrastructure for data collection study. One of the requirements for a Master SR® Counselor - Life Coach is to perform a study so we are continually adding data to the Studies and Results page. You can also request case studies from a CSRC you may be considering.
6) What are the two most important questions I need ask any coach, counselor or therapist I may be considering to insure accountability?
The first question to ask is… “What in your opinion determines human behavior?” One cannot fix it if one does not know how it works and one does not know how it works unless one can answer this question. If your counselor, life coach or therapist cannot answer this question with a one word answer they are simply guessing.
The next question is… “What is the first thing you will do to help me?” Everything we do as human beings is emotionally driven so if they do not begin by measuring your emotional state there is nowhere to go. Once again they are simply guessing.
7) What makes the SR® process the definitive program process for virtually any issue a human being may have?
The SR® program is the only legitimate process for any human objective because it begins with addressing the one constant among all human beings and this is a clear understanding of how an emotional state and behavior come about from the deepest level of the subconscious.
If you get a flat on your car do you want to go back and find out why you got the flat or do you want to fix it so you can continue moving down the road?
8) Are SR® Counselors and Coaches licensed by the state or federal government?
Because of the structure of the SR® modality we are not required to be licensed by the state or federal government. Because of our data collection process SR® counselors and life coaches are required to maintain a much higher standard than anyone else in coaching, counseling or mental health. Take a look at the SR® Doctrine (pdf).
