:: Exceeding Rand PTSD & Major Depression Recommendations with Subconscious Restructuring® Paradigm

May 22, 2011

A 2008 study released from Rand called “Invisible Wounds of War” addressed the issue of PTSD, major depression and the rising suicide rate in the military. There was one evidence-based paradigm which was compliant with the recommendations of the Rand study and had been for over a decade.  An overview of how the Subconscious Restructuring® (SR®) paradigm now exceeds Rand recommendations begins with a study of fourteen combat veterans.  Inclusive of the group study below is a fully interactive EHR website used to implement the SR® process.

SR® Group Study

All 14 in the group study below have seen combat duty and were individually counseled from August, 15th 2010 to April, 3rd 2011. This sample represents one hundred percent of the clients Beau Chatham, MSRC counseled with a PTSD diagnoses during this period. All counseling consisted of two, two-hour sessions.

Group Study Percent Improvements: Depression 45%, anxiety 42%, anger 50%, sleep 37%, suicidal ideation 61%, eating behavior 36%, relationship satisfaction, 22%.

The 2008 Rand study made several key points (listed below) which the SR® paradigm fully addressed, complied to and now exceeds.

  1. Accountability: Rand stated the “black box” of psychotherapy delivered to veterans must be made more transparent, so providers are accountable for their services.

SR® Solution: All Certified SR® Counselors are issued an EHR account at SRWorkshops.com. This website represents a comprehensive unprecedented means of monitoring an SR® Counselors performance and warriors they are working with from any location worldwide with three time proven instruments.

  1. Increase the cadre of providers who are trained and certified to deliver proven (evidence-based) care.

SR® Solution: The Master SR® Certification program provides autonomy of behavioral health within the military. Master SR® Counselors are able to certify others which allows for a self-perpetuating sustainable cadre of providers.

  1. Change policies to encourage active duty personnel and veterans to seek needed care.

SR® Solution: After integration of SR® a regular schedule of the Emotional Checklist is implemented and accessed online. This enables consistent monitoring of a warriors emotional state from anywhere in the world.

  1. Deliver proven, evidence-based care to service members and veterans whenever and wherever services are provided.

SR® Solution: The online SR® EHR component accommodates immediate services online whenever and wherever they are needed with progress tracking over time.

  1. Invest in research to close information gaps and plan effectively.

SR® Solution: The data infrastructure and statistical tracking of SR® affords a built in research platform every time the SR® process is used.

Exceeding Rand Recommendations

Rapid SR® Deployment: SR® Training is a 2 day process. SR® Certification follows in less than two weeks after the new SR® Counselor completes 3 SR® sessions with one follow-up. After approval of the data from the SR® Institute certification is complete.

Continuity of Care: SR® is a structured focused program process with a scripted framework and comprehensive data collection to monitor the progress and resiliency of the soldier and competence of the counselor from any location worldwide.

Resiliency: Resiliency of the soldier is assured by empowering them with the tools to consistently implement the SR® process anytime of the day or night.
